Pricing & Policies

Location: all of my portraits are photographed at a location that my clients choose, usually an outdoor location with some meaning to the family. Generally we try and choose a time frame when the lighting is good and children are well-rested so we can maximize our photo opportunities. I prefer to work without studio lights, but am happy to bring the required equipment when we schedule an indoor shoot.

My prices assume we're shooting within a half-hour of Statesboro, GA. If more travel is required (if, for instance, you want a family portrait on the beach) then a larger prepayment applies.

Cancallation: if we're planning to photograph Johnny somewhere around his great grandfather's tractor and the weather on the chosen day doesn't cooperate, then we can reschedule without any problems. The same is true if Johnny is cranky, or sick, or gets a black eye. Cancellations, on the other hand, must be made more than 72 hours prior to the session, or you will forfeit the prepayment.

Prints: most of my portraits are black and white, and are printed on true black-and-white (silver gelatin) paper for maximum print life. Color portraits are printed using traditional chemical color processes, so you're getting "real" color prints. Inkjet prints on watercolor paper or canvas are available at an additional fee.

Print prices include:

• Spraying of prints smaller than 8x10 to protect them against sticky fingers and other risks.
• Prints 8x10 and larger are mounted to archival mat board to ensure they stay rigid and to protect the corners of the image from bumps on the way to the framer.
• Wall print pricing includes texturing or bonding to canvas, though these are optional.

Sitting Fee: I require a $150 prepayment, which covers our photo session at your location and a $100 print credit. Sessions last an indeterminate amount of time -- if things are going well we can simply continue to shoot provided your schedule is flexible enough.

Proofing:I am happy to come to you to show you the images we created, at the time of your choosing. If you're interested in a wall print, just ask and I'll bring along a projector to help visualize how your chosen prints will look on the wall at the size you're considering.

Retouching: digital retouching is available at a minimal additional fee. Please ask for a quote if you're interested.
